Art Lebedev’s New OLED Keyboard Concept
Art Lebedev the developers of the Optimus Maximus OLED keyboard have released a concept for future product. The Russian developers are planning the ultimate keyboard. A keyboard that is also a giant Wacom tablet and a second display. It will be cheaper to produce than there previous products, its basically one big touch s OLED screen with endless possibility’s of usages. Again there will be COMPLETE customizability of the keys.
The Optimus Maximus keyboard currently costs quite a lot but it has paved the way for OLED keyboards and introduced them to the market. Even though of there previous products being slightly out of the average consumers budget one cannot deny that this keyboard design is something that the PC industry needs. It will revolutionize keyboards as we know them today, customizable buttons, interactivity on the display for example the keyboard will also be a media player, playing video.

Being an artist, I think it would be great to have a CINTIQ type wacom tablet in a keyboard. Would make life a lot easier for using Photoshop and such as I’m often swapping my hand back and between the tablet and the keyboard. Can’t wait until it comes down in price though.

To answer CrazySkulls question, this is just literally a concept. Art Lebedev have released previous keyboards which have had really good press. There really stylish and the technology is impressive. No one knows a price just yet, when a price is released we will let everyone know.

Looks decent enough with hints of an LCARS looks (star trek anyone?). However, I prefer having actually keys that require depressing and even notebooks keyboards are too shallow for me, lol.

This is way too fancy for my tastes. I have a Dell keyboard with a smartcard reader built in, and I hope it never dies because this thing is all I need. I’m so 90’s. I don’t even have any interest in an iPhone. I still enjoy typing commands at a command prompt. Yeah, I’m old.

I think technology for Touch keyboards will not be a big hit in market. As touch screns are prefered. More over consumer is more aware of products now a days, they are not buying anything until its proven. But cost will be the deciding factor.

I must say, the technology behind these types of keyboards looks impressive. I wonder how comfortable I’d be typing on that style of keyboard without worrying that I will break it. (Frustration is my inner demon >_<)

This product is fantastic. Maybe one day we may not need the monitor anymore. And it’s easy to carry around in a bag. This is better for watching videos on the go because the screen is larger than mobile phones.

WoW this really good.
It will be very helpful for people who need type in languages other than English.
Since it has OLED I think getting different keyboards layouts is not going to be a problem.

Whatever People may say, I still don’t like it. The Keyboard is no doubt good, but in my opinion putting so much stuff together gets really irritating sometimes, anyways I Thank the Blog Owner for such a Valuable Update.

Wow, that truly is something. I never thought of a keyboard being so customizable, but now that I think of it, it can really come in handy, as the programs you use the most, you can simply have a button for it on your keyboard!
