Vie GPS Sports Glove

The Designer of the Verva Vie Sports Glove is Du Tran Nguyen, he has dreamt of this being the ultimate piece of sports equipment. Like many new sports products the Vie glove would allow users to use GPS to help with thier workouts, by planning routes and if they can injured or in trouble the gloves could even send out a signal and send for help. But the Vie Sports Glove takes this technology to the next level; it is offering a user interface that can be controlled with the same hand the glove is being worn on. By using pressure sensors implanted in the glove fingers the user will be able to control the E-ink screen on the back of the glove.

Nguyen says that the Vie Sports Glove could be used in almost of sport, to help communicate the plays and to even share information with other athletes or or it could send health information about the user to trainers. If the user is injured or is in danger then the user could send out a signal that could be sent to other gloves or in a worst case scenario to the police or hospitals. The glove would also be able to monitor the users vital signs, and could send out a signal if the user is suffering for serious problems. Unfortunately this is all just a dream at the moment, but hopefully it will be out for sale before we’re too old to do any sports.

Just to back up the latest rumor and my latest tweet, the word going round Silicon Valley right now is that Michael Arrington stars as a kid in a film called Juno where I think just before he attended Stanford Law School he was filmed and the footage is now in this film. I just think the kid in this film looks amusingly like Mike. You can check out Mike in action by watching the Juno Movie trailer

Mike wont at all mind me posting this, he’s a great guy and everyone around Silicon Valley loves him, just to also let you know I just updated TechCrunch on Wikipedia from the “4th most popular blog on Technorati” to the 3rd! Lets hope the wikislaves over at Wikipedia keep it longer than when I edited Wikipedia to say that I had been dating English actress Sienna Miller for several months.

The New EA Games Division

EA

EA have apparently set up a new games division called, EA Blueprint. This new division will team up with smaller game developers and help with funding and project management. The strange thing is that EA have put two of its biggest brains on the job, Niel Young the Los Angeles general manager and Alan Yu the director of artist and repertoire.

The products of EA Blueprint will be brand extensions of existing EA games. The games made by Blueprint are mainly destined to be developed on social networks, such as Facebook. EA already have a game on Facebook called Facebook Smarty Pants, it’s very similar the Wii game.

Despite trying to keep a low profile, some sources are saying that the execs at EA have been dropping subtle hints about Blueprint, by squeezing ‘Bliueprnt’ into some of their feeds. Well it look like Blueprint is well on it’s way to be a new business model for EA, by making small scale games that are cheap to make and have millions of users, Facebook currently has about 62 million users worldwide and it is still growing with Fackbook’s recent language releases.

Google phone finally unleashed?

Google Phone

There are rumors spreading around that ARM are going to release the Google Android mobile platform at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week. There have been no confirmations by either Google or ARM, but they are not denying it.

Google is planning on releasing phones and services using the android platform in the second half of this year. Google established an army of more than 30 carriers, handset makers, software firms and chip makersĀ  back in november to help create the Android platform, which is based upon open-source software and it is designed to make the internet work better on mobiles. This together with Google’s bid on the 700Mhz wireless spectrum could be leading to something very big and hopefully very wonderful, but we will just have to wait and see.

The research frim Strategy Analytics has estimated that the Android platform will be in 2% of smart phones by the end of this year.
