Starbucks iPhone quick order application

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

Everyone already knows that Apple and Starbucks are great friends with the collaboration of the WIFI in Starbucks now there is something new on the Starbucks menu in the form of the Starbucks iPhone quick order application. Quickorder, as you can probably imagine, would enable iPod touch users to swing by their local Starbucks, order up their favourite drink and avoid a good deal of that always questionable human interaction.

Right now this is only a mock up but it most certainly does look amazing, something I would defiantly use. You can see more about it at Genoco.

Well apparently it is Valentines day, looks like alot of people have missed this one, including me. But if you are one of the ones who have heard of this mythical day then congrats. If you celebrate it then double congrats. I for one don’t for obvious reasons. But any way I thought I would scourer the Internet and look for the best geek Valentine gifts for Him and for Her.

For Her:

For that lovely geeky girl in your life, I believe that she would really love this HeartWare USB Memory Key from Swarovski.

Here is a great gift for you both to share, the 8-bit Dynamic Life Shirt. Buy one of these shirts for yourself and one for your significant other. Dyson Clothes Line?

Dyson Clothes Line

Dyson have reinvented the vacuum cleaner, the hand dryer and other household products. But Dyson is now turning it’s attention to the clothes line. They have now invented the Air-Line, it is designed to use up no power and dry your clothes without being on a line for hours with the risk of getting wet if it rains. Looking at the picture you can see that the Air-Line is designed for people who line in towers/flats where there is no space for drying clothes on a washing line.

“The Airline was designed around the ideals of the emerging need for power efficient products. It is entirely self powered, requiring absolutely no external power sources, only using the environment around it. Furthermore this product is efficient, enhancing the most optimal conditions for drying clothing, without the use of excessive heat that can damage clothing.

A solar panel collects and powers the ventilation fans located at the base of the main unit. The main unit housing the clothing pivots with the sun ensuring that the solar panel and the clothing is receiving optimum sunlight. This pivot is maintained by a wound clockwork timer that is automatically wound when the unit is deployed. When the products moisture sensors can no longer detect moisture being vented off the clothes. It will divert its power to recharging internal batteries to assist in powering the unit in low light conditions, even at night.”

Obviously this is just a concept design, it was designed by Daniel Fitzgerald as his entry into the Dyson Student Award competition. It does seem very interesting and obviously in this day and age it has to be green. the real question is that if it does ever get made, will the people living in towers/flats be able to afford it?

I guess blogging is actually addictive, both reading and writing.
